Feverfew: Feverfew comes from the Latin word febrifugia, meaning “fever reducer” and has been called “medieval aspirin.” Feverfew has many naturally occurring compounds including flavonoids, volatile oils, tanetin, and most notably parthenolide. Parthenolide helps to stop the production of prostaglandins, which are molecules that promote inflammation. Parthenolide in Feverfew also eases smooth muscle spasms.
Ginger Root: Ginger Root helps to increase serotonin production, a chemical involved in migraine attacks. By increasing serotonin levels in the brain, Ginger Root helps to reduce inflammation and the restriction of blood vessels.
