Hand-blended herbal leaves, roots, flowers, and bark that reduce inflammation, and relaxes tension around the head.
Headache Herbal Tea contains anti-inflammatory compounds which help to prevent blood platelets from releasing molecules that cause inflammation. This tea contains herbs that increase serotonin levels in the brain which helps to ease inflammation and the restriction of dilated blood vessels that cause migraines. Antispasmodic herbs help soothe muscle spasms around the scalp and eyes that are related to headaches. Analgesic herbs act as both a muscle relaxant and pain reliever. Headache Herbal Tea contains sedative, calming and relaxing herbs to soothe anxiety and stress.
Headache Herbal Tea has a light, savory flavor from the Feverfew and Rosemary Leaf. Peppermint Leaf and White Willow Bark add a wintery and slight minty finish. The Lavender Flower and Passionflower give Headache Herbal Tea a hint of floral flavors, creating a balanced tisane.
Feverfew: Feverfew comes from the Latin word febrifugia, meaning “fever reducer” and has been called “medieval aspirin.” Feverfew has many naturally occurring compounds including flavonoids, volatile oils, tanetin, and most notably parthenolide. Parthenolide helps to stop the production of prostaglandins, which are molecules that promote inflammation. Parthenolide in Feverfew also eases smooth muscle spasms.
Ginger Root: Ginger Root helps to increase serotonin production, a chemical involved in migraine attacks. By increasing serotonin levels in the brain, Ginger Root helps to reduce inflammation and the restriction of blood vessels.
Lavender Flower: Lavender Flower is deeply relaxing and reduces stress. The soothing benefits of Lavender Flower extend to its ability to alleviate stress and anxiety which can cause headaches.
Passionflower: Passionflower supports the nervous system by promoting calm and reducing anxiety. Passionflower is an effective analgesic, helping to alleviate pain caused by headaches.
Peppermint Leaf: Peppermint Leaf contains the compound, menthol which is a vasodilator, which improves blood flow, relaxes muscles, and eases pain caused by headaches.
Rosemary Leaf: Rosemary Leaf has powerful anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties which help to reduce stress, ease pain, and improve circulation—all of which soothe headaches.
Valerian Root: Valerian Root contains compounds that stimulate the opioid receptors and serotonin production in the brain, increasing relaxation, antidepressant effects, reducing pain, and acting as a mild sedative.
White Willow Bark: White Willow Bark has been referred to as “nature’s aspirin” due to its naturally occurring active ingredient, salicin, a chemical similar to aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid). This herb also contains powerful anti-inflammatory compounds called flavonoids that produce pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effects.
