Cordyceps Mushroom

Cordyceps or Cordyceps militaris is a genus of ascomycete fungi (sac fungi) that includes about 600 worldwide species. This fascinating parasitic fungi has been used for over 1500 years in Chinese medicine to treat fatigue, kidney disease, libido, and improve immunity. The generic name Cordyceps is derived from the ancient Greek κορδύλη kordýlē, meaning “club”, and the Latin -ceps, meaning “-headed”— which accurately describes the distinctive shape of the fungus.
